The Prime Minister well protected his senior colleague and important political ally the Food Minister by suggesting the Supreme Court of India that it should confine to judiciary only and not transgress into the governmental policies.
In a way he gagged the voice of the Apex Court and now it will think twice or never to utter a word of caution in any matter badly affecting general public but in the domain of Government’s policy matter!
But the mute question is what made the Apex court to look into such a socio-political matter. Why it considered necessary to intervene in such a matter? Was it just to express its authority to political masters or genuine concern for the poor!
By throwing the rotting food grains as garbage the government will not be paying due price to the farmers. The food grain was purchased long before not when it started rotting. Is it the policy of Central Government to deprive the poor a one time meal of rotten food grain?
Hunger does not know the governmental policy or Supreme Court’s directive or the compulsions of coalition government. In the remote interiors of Bihar, West Bengal, Orissa and Andhra Pradesh the agricultural daily labours, tribals, natural calamity like flood or drought affected people have no where to go. In such a scenario if the Naxals step in and provide them at least one time meal their allegiance is bound to be with them. At least they don’t allow them to die of hunger.
Naxals are basically Frankenstein’s Monster of the Government. We want to kill them because they want food, they don’t want forced acquisition of their meager land pieces, and they want means to survive. They don’t have the luxury of a Canteen in the Parliament where billionaire members of the parliament are served seven star foods at Rs.27/- They are not demanding five fold increase in their salary in addition to fabulous perquisites. They are not like the members of this august body who can’t explain the source of their accumulation of wealth in the short duration of five years in the Supreme Court.
The situation is not limited to such remote areas. It equally exits on streets and slums of Bombay, Delhi, Calcutta and all the other cities. They have at least one alternative and that is to turn to petty crimes and gradually graduating to heinous ones.
Shameless unscrupulous filthily rich politicians are the sole cause for the prevailing situation in the society
You must protect a foe if he is right and punish a friend when he wrong.
